Identify Fonts on Images via Match Fonts in Photoshop

I will show you which font is the font used in a design, or how you can access and use at least similar fonts of this font in Photoshop. We use Photoshop’s Match Font feature to quickly find the font that catches your attention on the image.

Although it does not give perfect results, it is a very helpful tool and very easy to use. I found an image of brands and we will try to find fonts close to these fonts. Of course, the fonts of the brands can be the fonts they have created themselves. But I still think we can find similar fonts.

Where is Match Fonts Feature

First, let me show you where the Match Font feature is. We’ll do this with the Match Font option under Type. When I click on this option it asks me to select a field. I close this screen and get the Rectangle Tool. Now, with this tool, let’s select the area of the font whose similars I want to find. For example, I select the Columbia field like this and it becomes selected.

Now we select the Match Font option under Type and it will analyze this font and output similar fonts to me. When we look at the Columbia font, we see that it is a serif font and it suggested me the serif fonts again. Now let’s try with another font. For example, I select another text and click Type > Match Font, it shows me thin fonts similar to this character.

Download Fonts via Adobe Fonts

If you are using the licensed Photoshop program, you can click the icons on the left to download these fonts to your computer, because it downloads these fonts from Adobe Fonts. For example, let’s say I want to download this font. I click on the download icon on the left side of this font.

When I click on it, we understand that it activates the font. I click the OK button. I get the Type tool and I’m going to write a text for this part, let’s write the same text again. The last font that I chose was chosen automatically from the character panel, and I am writing it here as you can see the Avon text.

When I enlarge the size of the text, we can say that it found a similar font. Now let’s try to find another font. For example, here is a handwritten text. I select the Match Font option under Type and we can see some of the handwritten characters it suggests here. I will not download and try them all one by one, but I can say that it gives very successful results.

Let’s do a search on this new logo again, and these are the fonts it suggested to me in accordance with these fonts. Of course, we are going through logos right now, but you can find the font on a design, on an interface, and on a poster much more easily. Because they are probably the fonts that are mostly used and are in Adobe. Because they are logos and special characters, they cannot find the exact same font. But I can still say that it gives successful results. I want to search Johnsons Baby. I go to Type and select Match Font so that fonts suitable for Johnsons Baby font are listed. Let’s say I want to download it here too. When I download it, it automatically installs on my computer and goes to the top line. Fonts after this text are not downloaded yet. I click the OK button and write here a Johnsons Baby. When I look at it this way, we can see that the Baby character is particularly similar.

In this video, I showed you how to find fonts on images and designs in Photoshop, or how to find the font itself or similar ones without leaving Photoshop. It analyzes the font in the selected area, searches for this font in its database, offers us suggestions, and tries to guess the font.
